Belt Cleaner / Scrapers (Primary)

In Tanzanian industries, conveyor belts often carry sticky, wet, or dusty materials that can cling to the belt and cause spillage, equipment wear, or downtime. Primary belt cleaners, also called scrapers, are designed to remove this material immediately after it leaves the head pulley.

The system uses a blade made of polyurethane, rubber, or composite material pressed against the belt. As the belt moves, the scraper removes residual material and directs it into collection areas or back onto the belt. This prevents buildup on pulleys and idlers, protects the belt surface, and reduces maintenance. It works for minerals, powders, grains, plastics, and recycled scrap.

Installation is practical. Primary scrapers are mounted at the head pulley with adjustable tension to ensure proper contact with the belt without damaging it. Blades can be replaced individually, and brackets or frames allow alignment for different belt widths and pulley sizes.

Maintenance is simple. Scraper blades wear over time but are easy to inspect and replace. Bearings or tensioning systems are accessible, making service quick and reducing downtime.
