Conveyor lines in Tanzanian industries often carry hidden ferrous contamination that can damage equipment or reduce product quality. Magnetic pulleys, also called magnetic head pulleys or permanent magnetic pulleys, remove these metal particles directly as the belt moves, without stopping production.
The pulley itself contains a strong permanent magnet. As the conveyor belt rotates over the pulley, iron and steel particles are attracted to the pulley surface and carried away from the clean material. At the discharge point, the metal falls into a separate collection area. This keeps material flow continuous and prevents damage to crushers, mills, or other downstream equipment. It works for ores, powders, grains, plastics, and scrap.
Installation is simple. The pulley can replace the head or tail pulley of an existing conveyor, making it a space-efficient solution. Adjusting the belt tension, pulley position, and magnetic strength ensures optimal separation for the type of material being handled. Multi-pulley arrangements are possible where higher contamination or finer metal recovery is needed.
Maintenance is straightforward. The magnetic core is sealed and protected, so strength remains stable over long periods. The pulley surface is accessible for inspection and cleaning, and supporting components like shafts and housings are supplied for easy integration.
Tanzanian industries like mining, recycling, food processing, and plastics rely on magnetic head pulleys to protect machinery, reduce downtime, and maintain product quality. Each installation is designed according to actual material flow, particle size, and conveyor speed, making the system reliable, efficient, and ready for continuous operation without interrupting production.
