Material moving on conveyors in Tanzanian industries often carries hidden ferrous contamination. Suspension magnets, also called suspended magnets or conveyor magnets, are designed to remove iron and steel particles directly from the material flow without stopping production.
The magnet is hung above a conveyor belt or chute, close enough to attract ferrous particles as material passes underneath. Metal sticks to the magnetic surface and is collected in a separate area, while clean material continues on its path. This setup works for ores, powders, grains, plastics, and scrap materials.
Installation is flexible. The height, angle, and position of the suspended magnet are adjusted based on material thickness, flow rate, and particle size to maximize metal removal. Multiple magnets can be installed in series for higher efficiency or finer contamination.
Maintenance is simple. The magnet is accessible for cleaning and inspection, and permanent magnetic strength remains stable over long periods. Supporting frames, clamps, and hangers are supplied for safe and secure installation.
Industries like mining, food processing, chemical, plastics, and recycling in Tanzania rely on suspension magnets to reduce equipment wear, prevent product rejection, and maintain smooth operations. Each system is calibrated to the actual material flow and characteristics rather than standard specifications, ensuring reliable, consistent, and practical metal separation for continuous production.
