Bulk material moving through chutes, hoppers, or conveyors in Tanzanian industries often carries hidden ferrous contamination that can damage equipment or reduce product quality. Plate magnets, also called magnetic plates, are designed to remove these metal particles directly from the flow.
The magnet is a flat plate embedded with strong permanent magnets. As material slides or falls over the plate, iron and steel particles are attracted to the magnetic surface, while clean material continues forward. This protects crushers, grinders, mills, and other downstream equipment from damage. It works for powders, grains, minerals, plastics, and recycled materials.
Installation is simple. Magnetic plates can be mounted inside hoppers, under chutes, or over conveyor belts. Adjusting the plate height, angle, and clearance ensures maximum metal capture without interrupting material flow. Multiple plates can be arranged for higher contamination levels or finer particle separation.
Maintenance is practical. The magnetic surface is accessible for inspection and cleaning, and permanent magnets retain strength over long periods. Supporting frames or housings are provided to secure the plate safely in the material path.
Industries in Tanzania, including food processing, chemical, plastics, mining, and recycling, rely on plate magnets to reduce machine wear, prevent production interruptions, and maintain product quality. Each system is configured according to actual material flow, particle size, and contamination level rather than standard specifications, making the separator reliable, efficient, and suitable for continuous operation.
